Plug a note as context

Plug-as-Context pins a note as live context for the AI you’re chatting with. While it’s plugged, the AI reads the note’s current contents on every message — so you steer the conversation by editing the note, not by re-pasting.

How it works

• Toggle Plug as Context on a note (the plug icon in the editor).
• Every message you send in the AI Chat now includes that note’s latest text.
• Edit the note to change what the AI knows — no copy-paste, no re-attaching.
• It turns off automatically when you switch to a different note, so context never leaks between notes.

This is the difference between a one-off paste and a working memory you own: keep your brief, your style guide, or your project state in a note and let every reply build on it.

Let the AI edit the note

While a note is plugged, context flows both ways — the AI can edit the note in place, the way a coding agent edits an open file. Just ask:

“Rewrite this note to be more concise.” “Turn these rough notes into a clean outline.” “Translate this note to Spanish.”

The change lands directly in your editor and saves, and a small “AI edited … Undo” prompt appears — one click restores the previous version.

• The plug toggle is the permission — no extra prompt, no confirmation click for each edit. Turning Plug off revokes it.
• Scoped to the plugged note only. The AI can’t touch any other note or file — just the one you plugged.
• Always undoable. Because there’s no per-edit confirmation, every AI edit comes with a single-level Undo.

It works with any AI that can use tools in this chat — a cloud provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, …) or a CLI connector (Claude Code, Codex).

Plug-as-Context is a Pro feature. On Free and Personal you can still attach a note as a one-time context chip in the chat — Plug keeps it live and lets the AI edit it back.
